How to make banana cake and decorate with cream and frosting.
Making the cake
Beat the butter and the sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Add both eggs. Do this one egg at a time, beating well before adding the next egg.
Add the mashed bananas, and mix in well.
Heat the milk and mix together with the baking soda. Add this to the mixture.
Sift 2 cups of flour and 1teaspoon of baking powder together and stir into the mixture.
Place in a 9-inch spring form baking dish and bake for 40minutes at 190c (375f).
Once baked, take it out of the cake tin and leave to cool
Making the cream
Beat together the whipping cream and sugar until you get a firm consistency.
Making the frosting
Sift the confectionery sugar into a large bowl, then add all the other frosting ingredients and mix until you get a smooth soft frosting.
Putting it all together
Once the cake has cooled, carefully cut the cake in half (horizontally). Using a large knife is good for this.
Using the piping bag, pipe the beaten cream onto the top of the bottom half of the cake. Or you could just spoon the cream on.
Place the top of the cake gently onto the cream filling.
Place the frosting into a piping bag with a decorative tip and decorate. This will give your cake a nice professional look
