Step 4
Once the tubing has been attached to the pump nozzle, Fill the trough with river pebbles that are large enough not to damage the pump. Once the trough is half way filled, set your centerpiece so that it is stably standing on top of the rocks. Now continue to fill the area around it until it has been adequately stabilized. Place the décor you have chosen to accept the waters flow in the same fashion and fill around it with river rock to stabilize it in your preferred position. Cut the hose so that it is flush and relatively unnoticeable. Now use your hot glue gun to fix the hose in a flush position.
Step 5
Decorate it! Find interesting ways to set up rocks around the planters, or perhaps add succulent plants for a beautiful green look! Succulents are great because of their heartiness and durability. They work equally well indoors and outdoors, and they require little maintenance. I prefer using a Tillandsia which is a bare root plant that thrive when soaked in water once every two weeks, this eliminates the use of soil and makes for easy maintenance.
Step 6
DON"T FORGET TO FILL YOUR FOUNTAIN BEFORE YOU PLUG IT IN. Find an outlet nearby, or use an extension cord. Consider burying this in a light trench, or covering it with vegetation for aesthetic appeal. And that's it! Now you can enjoy the wonderful sights and sounds of your very own, easy to make indoor/outdoor water fountain!
