Make your own fountain

Step 1
Drill a hole near the bottom of the centerpiece of your fountain and the area that the water will be dispersed through. This hole should be large enough to pass the submersible water pump's hose through. Plastic decorative pieces are much easier to drill but may not look as nice as their clay counterparts.
Step 2
Place the submersible water pump at the bottom of the planter and position it so that it the hose and power wire are directed towards your centerpiece. If you wish to hide the cord you may drill a hole in the side of your trough. Then cut a very thin notch halfway through the rubber stopper and wrap it around the cord. Plug the stopper into the hole; make sure it's tight! Also, remember to select a pump with the appropriate amount of gph. Too much power, and you'll probably get soaked!
Step 3
Cut a length of hose that is longer than what you will eventually use. Attach the tubing to your water pump and feed it through your centerpiece so that the excess is hanging out of the dispersion area.
