I have visited Barcelona twice now, as I just love this city and it's ways.
If you are planning a trip to Spain, I recommend including Barcelona: it's an energetic city alive with art, culture, history, diverse architecture,
festivals aplenty and friendly people. Like any city, the more time you spend the better you really get to know it but if you are visiting for a brief time,
I have started to make a list of my favourite things to see and do that I am sure would please anyone. I will keep adding more as I find the time, and as I stumble across new places.

The magic fountain is a spectacular display of water and light dancing to music. It is truly a beautiful event. And it's FREE! People gather around in the evenings to watch it move to all sorts of music, from classical, opera, rock and pop. This should not be missed. It is at the foot of Montjuic, and the Palau National is directly behind it, displaying beams of light into the sky.
Check the website for the schedule. In winter it's activated two evenings a week and summer, four evenings. Each show lasts for 15 minutes and they run every half hour for a few hours.
